4 routes through the Empordà Wetlands

In another post, we had previously written about Els Aiguamolls de l’Empordà (a type of wetland), a natural park, which is 5km from the Camping Mas Nou. The park has a great natural interest and beautiful landscapes. One of the best ways to discover this place is with routes trough the park. The observatory of Senillosa is also nearby and we could see the Aiguamolls from another viewpoint.

Routs from el Cortalet…

… to “mas el Matar”: It’s very accessible and full of good experiences. 2,5km. Return trough the same way. It’s excellent for a quick excursion and also for the youngest children of the family. We will discover the wonders of the park.

… to “els Estanys Europa”: It’s larger than the other route, without shades in the middle of the route. 4km. You have two options for the return: trough the same way or trough the Estanys’ route.

Estanys’ route (ponds’ route)

It starts and finishes in Cortalet. We will be able to see great and different scenarios of the Aiguamolls as well as small hermitages and other sightseeing places. We recommend you doing it by bike because of the 32km.

Literature Route of Mª Àngels Anglada

This time we are focused on a more poetic part for the route from Cortalet to Mas Matar, because we introduce texts written by Mª Àngels Anglada in specific places during the route. We will discover a different park. You can get the texts on the Information Centre or on the website.

If you want to enjoy Els Aiguamolls, the park’s management expects a full respect for the public and private environments. We hope you will enjoy these routes and all the things you will see there.

Be prepared for the stroll!
