Proposals for Holy Week near Camping Mas Nou
Traditional festivities are coming, especially Christian tradition. However they are also days to enjoy all type of cultural activities organized by various villages.
Next 19 March Camping Mas Nou will begin its new season, so if you decide to spend some days with us during Holy Week, near you’ll find proposals for everybody. Here we highlight a few of these.
Castelló d’Empúries offers on Good Friday the traditional Via Crucis, from the Basilica to Palau dels Comptes. Furthermore, on 19 March there will be a blessing of palms and other activities during the week, such as a market, fair, guided visits… Here you can view the calendar.
In Verges, just half an hour away from the campsite, on Holy Thursday, you’ve the opportunity to enjoy one of the most traditional theatre performances in Catalonia: Verges Procession, which it has his origin in 1666.
Different moments of Jesus’ life are represented along the streets; there is a parade of Mananges (Romans) and the most expected moment: The “Dance of the Death” played by 5 skulls that jump at the rhythm of the drums. Find out more information here.
In Girona the Manaies, Roman soldiers, parade to the rhythm of music and coup lances. This event is celebrated every day since XVIII century and it will take place from 23 to 25 March. Here you can see the Schedule and the route.
If you crave something sweet, the Market of the Fritter Pastry with over 90 years of history takes place in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. This is a typical local dessert which is usually eaten during Holy Week. Around the issue a contest is organized, activities for kids, performances, artisanal stands…

The Occasion Boat Fair in Empuriabrava is in Marina port from 19 to 27 March. You’ll find 400 occasion motor boats, sail, Jet Ski and products related to sailing world.
Comedian Festival in Figueres celebrates its ninth edition from 23 to 27 March. You’ll laugh with comedians, magicians and showmen. Furthermore, you’ll be able to participate in activities for all ages.
