Cap de Creus is a natural territory characterized by a huge wealth of flora and fauna that leaves nobody indifferent. This area has become the first maritime-terrestrial park in Catalonia; it is formed by eight towns and situated in Camping Mas Nou’s region: Alt Empordà.
To visit this fascinating territory there are some activities such as kayak, diving or horse ride that are recommended. However, from Camping Mas Nou we encourage you to enjoy it through two wonderful routes that can be done with your family or friends.
El Camí Vell de Portlligat
The starting point of the this route is in Cadaqués and it ends in Portlligat’s bay which is a natural port that offers one of the most famous coves of Cadaqués.
Besides the fact that this path has no particular difficulty and is suitable for everybody, it has lots of elements of great interest. From Camping Mas Nou we stand out the House-museum of Salvador Dalí. Portlligat was the place where Salvador Dalí found the inspiration that let him create some of their works. That is why this beautiful place was for some years the artist’s residence and nowadays it has become a museum.
Far de Cala Nans
The starting point of the route is in Cadaqués and it ends in Cala Nans’ lighthouse. The tour isn’t difficult because the path is a paved road and it goes through the Camí de Ronda. From Camping Mas Nou we recommend you this route not only for the interesting elements you will find but also for the incredible panoramic view of Cadaqués bay that you will see from the cove.
“The path leads you to the bay’s mouth –in a way it leads you off shore-. That is why while strolling you often find a group of dolphins. The show is fascinating. The lonely road is lovely…”
We encourage you to visit Cadaqués and its routes to discover the most fascinating places of Alt Empordà. And do not forget to buy a box of the delicious and traditional “taps de Cadaqués”!
