This week we want to tell you about having a quiet walk amongst nature while discovering surprising plants and species, only hearing the singing of the birds and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. This feeling of calmness comes alive when you visit a botanic garden. And guess what? Near Camping Mas Nou there are some of Europe’s oldest and most precious gardens, in the middle of Costa Brava.
– Marimurtra Botanic Garden
(Blanes, La Selva 1h 16 min) http://goo.gl/maps/AGQPV
It spans across four hectares in which more than 4,000 species from the five continents coexist. They grow in their natural habitat thanks to three distinguished areas: tropical, tempered and Mediterranean. These plants stand out for their high botanic value and also for their age. The route is completed with many viewpoints that the visitor discovers along the route.
– Santa Clotilde Gardens
(Lloret de Mar, 1h 5min) http://goo.gl/maps/DSycQ
Placed in a beautiful land, on top of cliffs with impressive views to the sea, this garden shows the spirit of Catalan artistic movement “noucentisme”. These gardens were designed by Nicolau Rubió, a genius in the art of gardening.
– Pinya de Rosa Botanic Garden
(Blanes, 1h 10 min) http://goo.gl/maps/WCxmO
It’s a Tropical Conditioned Botanic Garden where beautiful sights and more than 7,000 species (without taking into account the local flora) await you. Some of its botanic collections are of great value, for example their astonishing cactus garden.
Now it’s a good time to enjoy these gardens, because you can buy 2×1 tickets and visit two parks for the price of one! Don’t miss it!
