Ones upon a time there was a medieval walled town situed on a Greek and Roman city in a beautiful bay of the Mediterranean coast. Its port became the most important of the country and it must be fortified to protect the citizens from attacks of invaders and also withstand wars and battles throughout the history.
In the VXIII century this wall was already disabled as a defense, and the inhabitants settled down in a village outside the walls: the present city of Roses. Many years later, this old walled town, now known as the “Ciutadella de Roses”, was reborn with a wide cultural activities for young and old people, citizens and visitors.
